Nice Rice

Nice Rice
"street of the city was pure gold"

A few weeks ago we encountered stretches of road covered with gold rice.  When it is harvest time farmers dump their rice along the main highway, spread it out with their bare feet, let it dry out, then tediously shovel it all up into bags, then load them into big trucks, like the one in this picture.  As we continued down the road we saw long lines of trucks waiting to deliver the rice to the rice mill.
All that work yields a harvest - same with the church here in Berbice, Guyana - Since we've been here these 7 months, we have watched the branches grow in number of members, as well as in Gospel learning.  Little children ar giving talks.  People that can't read are joining in class discussions.  Church meeting halls are cleaner.  More people are singing with confidence. More seats are full.  They just made a new district, which will eventually lead to a stake, if the growth continues.
